The purpose of Dynamic Positioning<\/a> systems (DP) is to enable a vessel or a rig at sea to maintain a predetermined geographical position and heading over the seabed using its propulsion and\/or thruster systems to generate thrusts that nullify the effects of environmental forces predominantly wind, current and wave actions. The presentation will address the concept of Dynamic Position, its application and modes of system failures and their effects.<\/p>\n
