International energy and marine consultancy <\/strong>ABL Group<\/strong><\/a> has appointed marine construction and engineering, and fixed object damage specialist, Christopher Waddicor as its director of marine civil engineering for the US market, driving the business\u2019s growth in the US ports and harbours\u2019 sector<\/a>.   <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mr Waddicor joins ABL with more than 23 years of experience in marine inspection, repair and construction management across the US and Caribbean\u2019s ports and harbours\u2019 industry. He has a significant track-record as Owner\u2019s Engineer<\/a> on port engineering projects. In addition to this, he has a wealth of experience in construction programming and management for CAPEX and OPEX expenditure.  His most recent engagement was as Employer\u2019s representative and chief resident engineer at the Freeport Container Port in the Bahamas, where he provided direct oversight for restorative works to the Container Port and Yard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Waddicor’s specialist casualty and fixed object damage<\/a> experience ranges from emergency port salvage, bridge and pier vessel allision, wharf\/pier collapse, post-event emergency engineering response to severe weather events that have affected port owners\u2019 global marine structural assets. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Waddicor has also held recent roles as senior port construction manager for the brownfield re-development of the port and rail terminal at Gibbstown, New Jersey; and senior marine design and construction manager for the new mega yacht marina and resort on the island of Canouan, St. Vincent and the Grenadines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With his experience extending to renewable energy infrastructure projects, Waddicor\u2019s appointment also reinforces ABL\u2019s commitment to support US ports and harbours in meeting requirements to support the US\u2019 offshore wind objectives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
