AqualisBraemar LOC Group (ABL Group)<\/a> onshore renewables\u2019 team continues to expand, with the addition of Snr Consultant and Energy Storage Lead, Aimee Besant \u2013 an experienced electrical engineer with a track-record in Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Energy storage \u2013 technology for capturing energy produced at one time for its later use \u2013 is key to unlocking the challenge of renewable generation variability. BNEF (Bloomberg New Energy Finance)<\/a> predicts that there will be over 350GW \/ 1TWh of energy storage by 2030. The addition of Besant to the ABL team demonstrates the group\u2019s commitment to supporting this growing segment of the renewable energy sector<\/a>.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

An experienced independent engineer, Besant joins ABL Group following her position as Snr Energy Storage Consultant at RINA. Her portfolio in supporting the BESS industry includes technical due diligence<\/a> on projects of 273 MW of capacity as well as owner\u2019s engineering<\/a> on projects totaling 55 MW of capacity. Besant\u2019s distinguished BESS track-record also includes technical support on several R&D projects funded by EU Horizon 2020<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Besant\u2019s work in renewable energy also spans other global markets, including market entry support for wind projects in Taiwan and energy storage projects in Croatia and Malawi. With Aimee\u2019s contribution, ABL Group hopes to significantly develop its technical offering in energy storage to support investment decisions and infrastructure development across a wider global footprint, including important emerging markets such as Africa and Middle East.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
