This project is a follow-up project to the 60MW pilot project that has already been established in Buan-gun, and it will be completed in 2026. The construction cost is about 2.4trillion won (KRW). It is evaluated as the largest project in the Korean renewable energy industry along with the large-scale offshore wind power project in Sinan-gun, Jeollanom-do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Under the contract, Saman and <a href=\"https:\/\/owcltd.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">OWC<\/a> will deliver owners\u2019 engineering services including review of site conditions; contract support for detail engineering, EPC contract, O&amp;M, supervision, marine warranty services and other contracts; review and approval of engineering reports; support the license approval process; and provide broad technical advisory services. OWC has not disclosed the value of the contract.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>\u201cWe are delighted to continue our support to Saman Corp and KOWP to help deliver the SouthWest Phase II project. This and other awards last year have established our local OWC presence as one that can support full development and project realisation. Offshore wind is still a relatively underdeveloped segment of renewables in South Korea, but thanks to strong government support with the Green New Deal and increased investor interest it is accelerating and will make up an increasing share of green energy generation over the next 10 years,\u201d<\/p><cite>Tom Whittle, OWC\u2019s APAC director<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>During 2021, Saman Corp. engaged OWC to take on the owners\u2019 engineering role at the 300 MW Sinan-Ja Eun Phase I offshore wind farm project as well as 600MW Wando-Geumil offshore wind farm project offshore South Korea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>OWC is a specialist consultancy that helps develop and deliver offshore wind projects and investments for developers and investors in all global markets.
