The hydropower dam\u2019s solar extension will increase existing electricity generation with minimal use of space and no land intrusion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"768\" height=\"512\" src=\"https:\/\/abl-group.com\/abl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/NT2-photo.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-22827\" srcset=\"https:\/\/abl-group.com\/abl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/NT2-photo.jpg 768w, https:\/\/abl-group.com\/abl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/NT2-photo-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/abl-group.com\/abl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/NT2-photo-390x260.jpg 390w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Innosea, which is part of <a href=\"https:\/\/abl-group.com\/abl\/\">AqualisBraemar LOC Group (ABL Group)<\/a>,will provide support for wave and anchoring studies, during the course of the development of the project where hydro and floating solar plants will be mutually beneficial.&nbsp; The floating solar islands are expected to reduce water evaporation that will in turn increase annual power production of the hydropower plant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/abl-group.com\/abl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Benoit-Briere.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-18874\" width=\"250\" height=\"313\" srcset=\"https:\/\/abl-group.com\/abl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Benoit-Briere.jpg 500w, https:\/\/abl-group.com\/abl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Benoit-Briere-240x300.jpg 240w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 250px) 100vw, 250px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>&#8220;The Nam Theun 2 solar project is exciting as it can demonstrate cost and energy potential from integrating FPV with existing power plants and technologies. Energy clustering of solar with hydropower is believed to potentially boost electrical output of existing plants by 10 percent, without occupying land space.
