{"id":21192,"date":"2021-09-28T08:44:28","date_gmt":"2021-09-28T07:44:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abl-group.com\/abl\/?p=21192"},"modified":"2021-09-28T08:44:29","modified_gmt":"2021-09-28T07:44:29","slug":"codling-wind-park-enlists-aqualisbraemar-loc-support","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abl-group.com\/abl\/all-media\/news\/codling-wind-park-enlists-aqualisbraemar-loc-support\/","title":{"rendered":"Codling Wind Park enlists AqualisBraemar LOC support"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/abl-group.com\/abl\/\"><strong>AqualisBraemar LOC<\/strong><\/a><strong> (ABL) \u2013 the energy and marine consultants \u2013 have been appointed as <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/abl-group.com\/abl\/loss-prevention\/marine-warranty-survey\/mws-renewables\/\"><strong>Marine Warranty Surveyor (MWS)<\/strong><\/a><strong> for the construction of&nbsp; Codling Wind Park &nbsp;\u2013 Ireland\u2019s largest Phase One offshore wind project.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Appointed to the project by <a href=\"https:\/\/codlingwindpark.ie\/\">Codling Wind Park Ltd<\/a>., ABL will provide MWS for the marine transportation and installation of WTG foundations, offshore support structures, inter-array cables, export cables and wind turbine generators. The size and number of wind turbines to be installed is not yet confirmed but could involve up to 140 WTGs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Subject to all necessary permits and consents being received, Codling Wind Park could begin construction in 2024\/25, with construction expected to take two to three years to complete.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The company has also been appointed to provide consulting services related to the review of early designs and installation methodologies, as well as vessels and equipment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>&#8220;We are enormously proud to have the opportunity to work on such a significant project for the Irish energy industry. The project is a 50\/50 joint venture between <a href=\"https:\/\/fredolsenrenewables.com\/\">Fred. Olsen Renewables<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.edf-re.uk\/\">EDF Renewables<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It has the potential to generate up to 1,500 MW of electricity, allowing it to power 70 percent of Irish homes, saving the equivalent of almost two million tonnes of harmful CO<sub>2<\/sub> emissions annually.
