What do you do at ABL?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I work as Senior Floating Windfarm Installation Engineer and Subsea Cable Expert. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I work often in project managing marine warranty survey (MWS) <\/a>projects largely in the offshore renewables<\/a> industry. Our central mission in MWS projects is focused on the technical review and 3rd-party approval of operational method statements and procedural documents to ensure that each envisaged step in a marine operation can be realistically taken and at the lowest reasonable level of risk. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What excites you the most about our industry?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Whatever the sector of the offshore industry – may it be floating wind, fixed-bottomed wind, export cable installation, etc. – the marine industry is constantly moving, changing and booming.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I recently had the chance to project manager the MWS scope of work for the installation of one of the the world’s first floating windfields. Since then, floating wind projects are multiplying and spreading all over the globe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Floating wind is a particularly exciting emerging area of our offshore industry, due to the highly complex nature of floating wind installation, and the innovative quality of this technology, opening up offshore wind to far deeper waters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What made you join ABL?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The opportunity to apply my technical knowledge to support projects all over the world, and therefore, to contribute to projects which will benefit the wider global energy transition and overall energy mix, is very exciting. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

ABL Group gives the opportunity to work on a project whatever the location and utilise world-leading expertise to find solutions no matter what the problem is that we face. Our engineers work on the development and design of cutting-edge technology across all sectors of the marine industry, seeking feasible and commercially-viable solutions to the most complex issues facing us with the climate crisis. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What do you do when you are not working?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I actually donate some of my free time to\u00a0the OceanCleanUp charity<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Mada Megafauna<\/a>\u00a0– supporting both charities during my holidays. Some examples of my voluntary work include – creating a world-first seachart of a garbage plastic patch, and the subsea investigation to determine the Whale-shark population in Madagascar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since I joint ABL, I don’t have quite as much free-time as I did before, but I have started to look at new projects of interest to me, including lutherie and building my own guitar & bass.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ABL Gro<\/em><\/a>up in renewables<\/a>, including group companies Innosea<\/a>, OWC<\/a>, Longitude Engineering<\/a> and ABL, have contributed to 15 offshore wind projects in France to date, with a total combined capacity of +5GW, including still un-installed capacity. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This project experience includes 7 floating wind projects with a combined capacity of +300 MW. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our contribution to French offshore wind covers acting as Marine Warranty Survey (MWS), managed our of ABL Paris, France<\/a>, for over 5 offshore wind projects with a total combined capacity of 1.9 GW. <\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
