{"id":20156,"date":"2021-08-18T12:43:00","date_gmt":"2021-08-18T11:43:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abl-group.com\/abl\/?p=20156"},"modified":"2021-08-17T13:02:54","modified_gmt":"2021-08-17T12:02:54","slug":"lloyds-salvation-arbitration-branch-steers-into-a-new-chapter","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abl-group.com\/abl\/all-media\/blog\/lloyds-salvation-arbitration-branch-steers-into-a-new-chapter\/","title":{"rendered":"Lloyd&#8217;s Salvage Arbitration Branch steers into a new chapter"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/abl-group.com\/abl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/Jason-Bennett.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-12533\" width=\"163\" height=\"238\" srcset=\"https:\/\/abl-group.com\/abl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/Jason-Bennett.jpg 500w, https:\/\/abl-group.com\/abl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/Jason-Bennett-205x300.jpg 205w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 163px) 100vw, 163px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Following an announcement by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lloyds.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Lloyd\u2019s of London<\/a> in April this year, that they would be considering the possible closure of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lloyds.com\/resources-and-services\/lloyds-agency\/salvage-arbitration-branch\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Lloyd\u2019s Salvage Arbitration Brand (LSAB)<\/a>, Lloyd\u2019s has recently announced on the 21<sup>st<\/sup> July, that they will continue to operate the LSAB and associated Lloyd\u2019s Open Form (LOF). <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Our <a href=\"https:\/\/abl-group.com\/abl\/people\/jason-benn\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Jason Bennett<\/a>, Salvage Director and Master Mariner comments on this recent development.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The continued operation of the LSAB and LOF is welcome news not only for the London and UK shipping market, but still as a key element in supporting global shipping and trade in its most demanding times.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There has been a substantial decline in the use of LOF over recent years.\u00a0 While some of this is attributable to changing dynamics, incident rates and adaptation of other options, there also remains a resistance in some sectors. This includes in circumstances where the form and the infrastructure behind it to ensure its impartiality, remain the ideal solution.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>An increased focus and active review of the LOF will be assisted by Lloyd\u2019s commitment to establishing a \u2018LOF Market Working Group\u2019, also announced on the 21<sup>st<\/sup> July. The objective of a working group is to support the Lloyd\u2019s Salvage Group in developing the LSAB and LOF going forward, to meet a rapidly changing maritime market climate.
