{"id":19811,"date":"2021-08-03T08:30:00","date_gmt":"2021-08-03T07:30:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abl-group.com\/abl\/?p=19811"},"modified":"2022-06-07T11:31:32","modified_gmt":"2022-06-07T10:31:32","slug":"owcs-cleverly-takes-on-global-renewables-group-role","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abl-group.com\/abl\/all-media\/news\/owcs-cleverly-takes-on-global-renewables-group-role\/","title":{"rendered":"OWC\u2019s Cleverly takes on global renewables group role"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Will Cleverly, formerly managing director of offshore wind consultancy OWC, has been promoted to the newly established role of global managing director for renewables across the entire AqualisBraemar LOC (ABL) group,&nbsp;which includes OWC, Innosea, ABL, East Point Geo and Longitude.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/abl-group.com\/abl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/Will-Cleverly.jpg\" alt=\"Will Cleverly\" class=\"wp-image-7979\" width=\"250\" height=\"250\" srcset=\"https:\/\/abl-group.com\/abl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/Will-Cleverly.jpg 250w, https:\/\/abl-group.com\/abl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/Will-Cleverly-150x150.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 250px) 100vw, 250px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Following AqualisBraemar\u2019s acquisition of the LOC group last year, the resulting ABL Group is firmly established as the leading independent technical consultancy partner to the offshore renewables sector, including offshore wind, solar, wave and tidal energies, green marine and clean shipping solutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cleverly has been with OWC since 2013 and was appointed managing director in July 2019 after establishing the successful OWC Taipei office.&nbsp; Since then, under his leadership OWC has opened further offices in Korea, Japan, New York, and Poland, and broadened OWC\u2019s client offering including electrical and grid, wind yield and geophysics (including the acquisition of specialist UK based geo-consultancy East Point Geo).&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During this time, OWC\u2019s headcount has increased to over 130 FTEs, and revenues have tripled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Going forward, Cleverly will be responsible for the growth of the whole renewables offering in ABL.&nbsp; He will hold profit and loss responsibility for the OWC, Innosea and East Point Geo companies, focusing on organic and inorganic growth into all renewable segments including offshore and onshore wind, solar, storage and floating PV. He will also have a leadership and coordination role for other renewables activities from the wider group including its world-leading offering within marine warranty services for offshore wind.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cSince becoming managing director of OWC two years ago, the company has grown tremendously. Will understands the commercial priorities of developers, investors, operators and engineering companies, and couples this with detailed technical competence within offshore renewables.
