I currently work for Longitude which is my first of four 1-year rotations on the Engineer Development Scheme. It is also my first job since graduating from the University of Strathclyde in June 2020 with a degree in Naval Architecture with Ocean Engineering. I am currently part of the Structures team in Exeter where I mainly undertake hand calculations and computer analysis for vessels which are being mobilised for offshore maintenance. The computer models are generated and analysed using the structural analysis software STAAD. I have also been involved in the preparation of deck layouts and initial stability calculations as part of a preliminary study assessing the viability of offshore windfarm installation using jack-up vessels.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
