11 August 2015 \u2013 Offshore Wind Consultants Limited, part of Oslo-listed Aqualis ASA, expands its physical footprint and opens a new office in Hamburg, Germany.<\/strong>

\nThe new Hamburg office will be used as the operating base for the company\u2019s growing client and project work based in the region, and will also provide a base for other Aqualis Group services in this sector.<\/p>\n

In 2014, renewable energy constituted 25.8 percent of the total electricity production in Germany, thereby becoming the country\u2019s biggest energy source for the first time, according to the German Association of Energy and Water Industries (Bundesverband der Energie- und Wasserwirtschaft – BDEW).<\/p>\n

Speaking of the new office development, Ian Bonnon, managing director of Offshore Wind Consultants, said: \u201cThe opening of our new office in Hamburg recognises the strategic importance of Germany in the offshore wind sector. We are delighted to have grown our business in a positive way which has allowed us to expand into Germany ahead of our planned global expansion plans. Offshore Wind Consultants is a globally focused consultancy providing independent services to the offshore renewables industry. It is one of the major players in the offshore wind consultancy business. The company was acquired by Aqualis ASA in June 2014.<\/p>\n
