{"id":125403,"date":"2025-10-22T13:03:41","date_gmt":"2025-10-22T12:03:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abl-group.com\/abl\/?p=125403"},"modified":"2025-10-22T13:03:44","modified_gmt":"2025-10-22T12:03:44","slug":"abl-to-support-north-sea-maritime-spatial-planning-project","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abl-group.com\/abl\/all-media\/news\/abl-to-support-north-sea-maritime-spatial-planning-project\/","title":{"rendered":"ABL to support North Sea maritime spatial planning project"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Energy and marine consultancy <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/abl-group.com\/\"><strong>ABL<\/strong><\/a><strong> <\/strong><strong>has been appointed to support <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.interregnorthsea.eu\/\"><strong>Interreg North Sea<\/strong><\/a><strong>\u2019s multilateral <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.interregnorthsea.eu\/norsaic\"><strong>NORSAIC<\/strong><\/a><strong> project, which aims to improve cooperation and governance in marine spatial planning for a sustainable North Sea region in the face of climate change.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Co-funded by the European Union, NORSAIC will provide maritime insight in support of North Sea maritime spatial planning initiatives, enhancing both collaboration and capacity for innovation in the face of climate change. NORSAIC is a crucial initiative to help ensure that future planning decisions are grounded in the best available understanding of marine trends.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/abl-group.com\/people\/tilo-klappenbach\/\">Tilo Klappenbach<\/a>, ABL\u2019s country manager in Germany<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>This latest scope builds on ABL\u2019s previous work with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bsh.de\/DE\/Home\/home_node.html\">Germany\u2019s Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency (Bundesamt f\u00fcr Seeschifffahrt und Hydrographie \u2013 BSH)<\/a>, performing navigational risks assessments of North Sea offshore wind development sites. While the project is managed by ABL\u2019s German team, the work is carried out by the company\u2019s global <a href=\"https:\/\/abl-group.com\/maritime\/ports-and-harbours-engineering-consultants\/\">Ports and Harbours<\/a> consultancy team with specialist support from sister company <a href=\"https:\/\/owcltd.com\/\">OWC<\/a>.
