Co-funded by the European Union (EU) through the <a href=\"https:\/\/interreg-sudoe.eu\/\">Interreg SUDOE<\/a> programme, AgroSpace aims <strong>to<\/strong> <strong>connect the agriculture and the space sectors<\/strong>, promoting the use of space technologies in rural areas as a tool for innovation and climate change resilience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Coinciding with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newspacecongress.cat\/en\/\">NewSpace Economy Congress<\/a> (NSEC 2025) celebration, representatives from the different entities of the AgroSpace consortium met at the headquarters of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ieec.cat\/\">Institute of Space Studies of Catalonia<\/a> (IEEC), in Castelldefels (Barcelona).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"769\" src=\"https:\/\/abl-group.com\/abl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/P1050192-1024x769.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-124873\" srcset=\"https:\/\/abl-group.com\/abl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/P1050192-1024x769.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/abl-group.com\/abl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/P1050192-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/abl-group.com\/abl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/P1050192-768x577.jpg 768w, https:\/\/abl-group.com\/abl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/P1050192-1536x1153.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/abl-group.com\/abl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/P1050192-2048x1538.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-space-technologies-to-transform-agriculture\"><strong>Space technologies to transform agriculture<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>AgroSpace aims to <strong>boost space technologies adoption in rural areas as a tool for innovation and climate change resilience<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To achieve this goal, three demonstrators will be implemented: one from a chamber of agriculture to improve assessment of climatic damages, in order to better compensate farmers; Vinhos S.A.<\/a> (North Portugal) <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/elliotcloud.com\/\">ELLIOT CLOUD<\/a> (La Rioja).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>These entities, which go from research centres to commerce and agriculture chambers, clusters and companies from both sectors, as well as end users, will together develop a <strong>cross-sectorial innovation strategy with a three-axis action plan for innovation<\/strong>: research, market and policy instruments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The<a href=\"https:\/\/web.gencat.cat\/en\/inici\/index.html\"> Government of Catalonia<\/a>, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aee.gob.es\/\">Spanish Space Agency<\/a> (AEE), <a href=\"https:\/\/ptspace.pt\/\">Portuguese Space Agency<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/cnes.fr\/en\">Centre national d&#8217;\u00e9tudes spatiales<\/a> (CNES), and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.laregion.fr\/The-Region-s-Geographic-and-Administrative-Profile\">Occitanie region<\/a>, which was the invited region in this NSEC 2025 edition, are some of the highlighted Associate partners.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-the-best-scenario-for-a-kick-off\"><strong>The best scenario for a kick-off<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Besides the first consortium meeting, AgroSpace was also presented during the NSEC 2025, celebrated on 3 and 4 July in Barcelona. The congress aims <strong>to establish Catalonia as a leading hub for space technologies<\/strong>. Organised by the <a href=\"https:\/\/cambrabcn.org\/en\/\">Barcelona Chamber of <\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/cambrabcn.org\/en\/\">Commerce<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/web.gencat.cat\/en\/inici\/index.html\">Government of Catalonia<\/a>, the event has the collaboration of the IEEC, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.icgc.cat\/en\">Cartographic and Geological Institute of Catalonia<\/a> (ICGC), <a href=\"https:\/\/i2cat.net\/\">i2CAT<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/kimglobal.com\/en\/kimbcn\/\">KIMbcn Foundation<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Alberto Garc\u00eda-Rigo<\/strong>, head of IEEC\u2019s Knowledge Transfer Office, and <strong>Anne-Lise Stephan<\/strong>, European Project Manager at Aerospace Valley, presented AgroSpace during the first day of the congress, to promote awareness of the project as well as the future call for space solutions in 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-text-color has-limegreen-color has-alpha-channel-opacity has-limegreen-background-color has-background\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Hidromod, part of ABL, brings over 30 years of experience in developing state-of-the-art modelling systems for coastal, rural, offshore, river, and urban water environments.
