Energy and marine consultancy ABL<\/a> has been awarded a contract to provide marine warranty survey (MWS) services<\/a> to RTE<\/a> for installation of the grid infrastructure at France\u2019s A03 Dunkirk offshore wind farm<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The A03 Dunkirk offshore wind project aims to produce up to 600MW of renewable energy from up to 46 wind turbine generators. The wind farm will be constructed more than 10 km north of Dunkirk in water depths of a maximum of 30 metres.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ABL\u2019s operation in France<\/a> has been contracted to support French transmission system operator RTE (R\u00e9seau de Transport d’\u00c9lectricit\u00e9) with the safe delivery of marine transportation and installation (T&I) activities relating to the offshore substation and subsea export cables.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ABL\u2019s scope of work includes technical reviews and approvals of project marine engineering documentation, drawings and procedures, suitability surveys of the proposed fleet, and on-site attendances to certify approval and witness the warranted operations. As well as supporting the T&I of the offshore substation (2200t 4-leg jacket & piles and 3250t topside), ABL will support cable pull-in, laying and protection operations for two 16-kilometre long submarine export cables.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ABL\u2019s office in Paris, France, will lead the project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Operational in France since 2015, ABL has acted as MWS on more than ten of the country\u2019s offshore wind projects, including France\u2019s first operational offshore wind farms \u2013 Saint Nazaire, Fecamp and Saint Brieuc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
