What keeps you on your toes?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text has-media-on-the-right is-stacked-on-mobile\" style=\"grid-template-columns:auto 38%\"><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<p>&#8220;As a Senior Technical Consultant, no two days are ever quite the same &#8211; sometimes not even two hours! Over the past three and a half years, I\u2019ve been seconded to Cenovus Energy in Calgary, where I\u2019ve supported a wide variety of projects ranging from hierarchy builds and master data optimisation to field walkdowns and Bill of Materials creation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>More recently, I\u2019ve been working closely with our Business Development team, helping out with technical input for leads and proposals. But as I\u2019m writing this, I\u2019m actually in British Columbia, about to board a cargo vessel for my first inspection with <a href=\"https:\/\/abl-group.com\/abl\/loss-prevention\/marine-surveys-inspections-and-audits\/marine-advisory\/\">ABL Marine<\/a> &#8211; an exciting new chapter in my journey here!<\/p>\n<\/div><figure class=\"wp-block-media-text__media\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"768\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/abl-group.com\/abl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/Image-26-4-768x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-124732 size-full\" srcset=\"https:\/\/abl-group.com\/abl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/Image-26-4-768x1024.jpg 768w, https:\/\/abl-group.com\/abl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/Image-26-4-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/abl-group.com\/abl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/Image-26-4-1152x1536.jpg 1152w, https:\/\/abl-group.com\/abl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/Image-26-4-1536x2048.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/abl-group.com\/abl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/Image-26-4-scaled.jpg 1920w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>One of the biggest challenges is simply time &#8211; there\u2019s so much going on, and ABL\u2019s flexibility means you get to be involved in a wide range of work across the business. I\u2019d love to do it all, but there are only so many hours in the day!&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-what-drew-you-to-our-industry-and-what-keeps-you-passionate-about-it\">What drew you to our industry and what keeps you passionate about it?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Energy powers the world! it\u2019s one of the most vital, fast-moving, and dynamic industries out there. What drew me in was the scale and impact of the work; what\u2019s kept me here is the constant evolution. There\u2019s always something new to learn, whether it\u2019s a breakthrough technology, an innovative approach, or a fresh challenge to tackle. That constant momentum is what keeps me engaged and passionate about what I do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-can-you-tell-us-about-something-exciting-you-are-working-on-right-now\">Can you tell us about something exciting you are working on right now?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Right now, I\u2019m in British Columbia preparing to board a vessel for an inspection. We\u2019re only just beginning to tap into the potential of AI in this field, but over the next few years, I believe it will play a central role in driving smarter, more efficient <a href=\"https:\/\/abl-group.com\/abl\/consulting-and-engineering\/asset-integrity-management\/\">asset integrity management<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-beyond-the-work-what-s-your-favourite-part-about-being-part-of-the-abl-group-team-in-calgary-any-fun-team-moments-you-d-like-to-share\">Beyond the work, what\u2019s your favourite part about being part of the ABL Group team in Calgary?
