{"id":123545,"date":"2025-02-10T11:44:09","date_gmt":"2025-02-10T11:44:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abl-group.com\/abl\/?p=123545"},"modified":"2025-02-10T11:49:13","modified_gmt":"2025-02-10T11:49:13","slug":"abl-to-support-decarbonisation-of-egyptian-aviation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abl-group.com\/abl\/all-media\/news\/abl-to-support-decarbonisation-of-egyptian-aviation\/","title":{"rendered":"ABL to support the decarbonisation of Egyptian aviation"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/abl-group.com\/abl\/\"><strong>Global energy and marine consultancy ABL<\/strong><\/a><strong> has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Egyptian Holding Company for Airports and Air Navigation (EHCAAN) to realise carbon-reduction initiatives for Egypt\u2019s aviation industry.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As part of the MoU, signed on the 3<sup>rd<\/sup> February this year, the parties commit to collaboration and technical support in the<a href=\"https:\/\/owcltd.com\/research-and-development\/\"> research and development (R&amp;D)<\/a> of methodologies for the decarbonisation, the introduction of carbon credits and other carbon-reduction initiatives. The parties will also support each other in the technology transfer, training, capacity building and other technical initiatives to support Egypt\u2019s roadmap to reducing the Egyptian aviation industry\u2019s carbon footprint.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/abl-group.com\/offices\/cairo\/\">ABL\u2019s operations in Cairo, Egypt<\/a>, and originally known and trading as LOC Egypt, will lead the future collaboration on this with EHCAAN.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped wp-block-gallery-1 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"500\" height=\"333\" data-id=\"123550\" src=\"https:\/\/abl-group.com\/abl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/ABL-2_Smaller.jpg\" alt=\"Eng. We are honoured to partner with EHCAAN to explore potential methods, alternative fuels, and a roadmap for emissions reduction in its national aviation programme. Our track record in Egyptian energy transition combined with our global expertise across key technologies &#8211; including hydrogen and power-to-x, solar PV, emissions consulting, and more &#8211; make ABL a natural choice to support aviation on its road to net-zero.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tamer Gamil, ABL&#8217;s Country Manager to Egypt <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>ABL\u2019s Egyptian operation has supported numerous energy transition projects of national interest, including a <a href=\"https:\/\/abl-group.com\/abl\/videos\/decarbonisation-of-tugs-in-tanker-operations-a-study-by-abl-group\/\">feasibility study into the transition of offshore oil and gas tanker operations to net-zero \u2013 a joint study with EGPC for COP27<\/a>.
