{"id":115401,"date":"2024-05-29T13:07:00","date_gmt":"2024-05-29T12:07:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/abl-group.com\/abl\/?p=115401"},"modified":"2024-05-29T12:00:07","modified_gmt":"2024-05-29T11:00:07","slug":"abl-moves-45-drilling-rigs-for-ongc-pre-monsoon","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abl-group.com\/abl\/all-media\/news\/abl-moves-45-drilling-rigs-for-ongc-pre-monsoon\/","title":{"rendered":"ABL moves 45 drilling rigs for ONGC \u2013 PRE-MONSOON"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong> India\u2019s Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC), supported by ABL as tow master and marine warranty provider, has moved a record high 45 drilling rigs to new locations ahead of the Indian monsoon season. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>ONGC\u2019s previous record was 37 rig moves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The 45 rig moves of jack-up rigs were moved to their respective monsoon locations between end-March and end-May 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>ABL acted for ONGC\u2019s underwriters and their appointed consultants for the rig moving campaign. Under this agreement, ABL provides marine warranty services to ONGC\u2019s fleet of jack-ups and mobile offshore production units in Indian waters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In total, ABL has supported 113 rig moves offshore India as Tow Master \/ MWS within this season from September 2023 to May 2024. The combined total distance travelled for all rigs was 5,477 nautical miles.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignright size-thumbnail\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" src=\"https:\/\/abl-group.com\/abl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/Stephen-Craig-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"Stephen Craig\" class=\"wp-image-59692\" srcset=\"https:\/\/abl-group.com\/abl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/Stephen-Craig-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/abl-group.com\/abl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/Stephen-Craig-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/abl-group.com\/abl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/Stephen-Craig.jpg 500w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cEven normal weather conditions pose significant challenges to both the tow master and marine warranty surveyor who must consider environmental, tidal, bathymetric and soil conditions. Such a substantial rig moving campaign therefore depends on seamless cooperation between marine warranty surveyors, tow master, geotechnical engineers, back-office personnel, rig operators and ONGC.
