You know our teams, but do you know our people?<\/p>\n<p>This week we talk to Luiz Pinho &#8211; business development manager and snr marine consultant for LOC in Brazil.<\/p>\n<p>Luiz is based in S\u00e3o Paulo, and has a focus on developping LOC relationships in oil &amp; gas, renewables and maritime in the wider Brazilian market.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What do you do at <\/strong><strong>LOC?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I joined LOC Brazil with the objective of building our local business and making new connections in S\u00e3o Paulo in 2018.<\/p>\n<p>I was also in charge of looking at the expansion into new products and at opportunities to transfer our skillset into new markets, taking into consideration fluctuations in the oil &amp; gas industry at that time. As a result, we had the opportunity to perform interesting consulting work for two PSV operators &#8211; the first to monitor crew onboard during vessel operations, including to witness the use and operation of <a href=\"https:\/\/loc-group.com\/services\/loss-prevention\/surveys-inspections-audits\/dynamic-positioning\/\">dynamic positioning (DP) systems<\/a>. The second one was a supply chain risk analysis and due diligence, for the assessment of business risk.<\/p>\n<p>Today I also have a broader role in supporting our business development. Next step is to increase our presence in the wider South American market as the newly merged ABL group.<\/p>\n<p>When possible, I also often attend on site, to perform inspections and surveys in the S\u00e3o Paulo area.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What excites you the most about our industry?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The perspectives of growth in the oil &amp; gas industry in Brazil are very interesting for the next 5 years at least. I am also becoming more involved with <a href=\"https:\/\/loc-group.com\/renewable-services\/\">renewables<\/a> and we expect this market to have a more significant role in the future in our region.<\/p>\n<p>We have a technically solid team and I am very confident in expanding our complex services into new areas and for new activities, based on our team&#8217;s expertise and commitment.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What made you join <\/strong><strong>LOC?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>My long-term acquaintance with <a href=\"https:\/\/loc-group.com\/our-people\/wagner-rodrigues\/\">Wagner Rodrigues<\/a>, our General Manager at <a href=\"https:\/\/loc-group.com\/offices\/americas\/rio-de-janeiro\/\">LOC Brazil<\/a>, was key.
