{"id":11229,"date":"2021-03-09T09:10:33","date_gmt":"2021-03-09T09:10:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/loc-group.com\/?p=11229"},"modified":"2021-04-16T10:24:38","modified_gmt":"2021-04-16T09:24:38","slug":"loc-awarded-alexandria-port-expansion-contract","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abl-group.com\/abl\/all-media\/news\/loc-awarded-alexandria-port-expansion-contract\/","title":{"rendered":"LOC awarded Alexandria port expansion contract"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Marine engineering consultancy LOC \u2013 part of <a href=\"https:\/\/aqualisbraemar.com\/\">AqualisBraemar<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/loc-group.com\/\">LOC<\/a> &#8211; has been awarded a contract by <a href=\"https:\/\/egmpt.com\/\">EGMPT<\/a> (Egyptian Group for Multi-Purpose Terminals and part of the Egyptian Ministry of Transport), to provide <a href=\"https:\/\/loc-group.com\/services\/consulting-engineering\/engineering-design-services\/\">engineering services<\/a> related to the Alexandria Port navigation channel expansion.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Under the contract, LOC\u2019s Egyptian operation will provide consulting and engineering services to deliver <a href=\"https:\/\/loc-group.com\/services\/consulting-engineering\/marine-engineering-consultancy\/analysis\/\">simulation modelling<\/a> of Egypt Pier 55-62, part of Alexandria Port, to support an expansion of the navigation channel. The expansion will be conducted to accommodate large container vessels calling to the proposed container terminal.<\/p>\n<p>LOC\u2019s services will include a real-time desktop navigation study, full mission ship simulation study, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.longitude-engineering.com\/services\/site-investigations\/metocean-analysis\/\">metocean<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.longitude-engineering.com\/services\/advanced-analysis-simulation\/multibody-hydrodynamics\/\">hydrodynamic studies<\/a>, amongst others.<\/p>\n<p>EGMPT, represented by its chairman, Admiral Abdel Kader Darwish, has awarded the contract which is LOC\u2019s first with Egypt\u2019s Ministry of Transport.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are really pleased to support an Egyptian Ministry of Transport company with their important expansion of the Port of Alexandria. The contract signing is recognition of the high quality of work and the relationships we have built with our clients in the Egyptian maritime market in the short time since our office opened,\u201d says <a href=\"https:\/\/loc-group.com\/our-people\/tamer-gamil\/\">Tamer Gamil<\/a>, LOC\u2019s country manager in <a href=\"https:\/\/loc-group.com\/offices\/europe-africa\/egypt\/\">Egypt<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>LOC, which is part of AqualisBraemar LOC Group, established an office in Cairo in 2017.
