Not only has the technology for floating offshore wind reached maturity, costs are also predicted to plummet with the development of the first commercial projects.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/corewind.eu\/\">COREWIND<\/a> project aims at strengthening European leadership in floating offshore wind energy. To increase the competitiveness of the technology, project partners are working on the optimisation of mooring and anchoring systems as well as dynamic cables, allowing for enhanced performance. The resulting recommendations are expected to facilitate the development of floating offshore wind energy, reducing risks and uncertainties, and contributing to lower LCOE (levelised cost of energy).<\/p>\n<p>On 25 February, from 15:00 to 16:30 CET, Corewind partners will meet in an <a href=\"http:\/\/corewind.eu\/join-our-webinar-and-learn-about-the-latest-innovations-in-offshore-wind\/\">online event<\/a> to discuss the latest results of the project. Join floating offshore experts from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irec.cat\/en\">IREC<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.upc.edu\/en?set_language=en\">UPC<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.esteyco.com\/en\/\">Esteyco<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/ramboll.com\/services-and-sectors\/energy\/wind-energy\">Ramboll<\/a> and others to learn more!<\/p>\n<p><a
