This was achieved despite the inevitable challenges presented by the pandemic, which required the Group to find innovative solutions to ensure LOC could continue to deliver for its clients.<\/p>\n<p>Work related to the <a href=\"https:\/\/loc-group.com\/renewable-services\/\">renewables sector<\/a> was particularly strong in 2020. LOC has a solid track record of supporting projects in Europe but also saw an acceleration of activity in Asia, winning several contracts across the continent, during the year. Equally, there was an acceleration of activity in the wider energy transition markets, with LOC growing its position within <a href=\"https:\/\/loc-group.com\/renewable-technology\/floating-pvs\/\">floating solar<\/a> and supporting <a href=\"https:\/\/www.longitude-engineering.com\/services\/clean-shipping\/\">change across the shipping industry<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In the <a href=\"https:\/\/loc-group.com\/sector\/oil-gas\/\">oil &amp; gas<\/a> market, LOC maintained its strong position in the industry, with a significant amount of work in North America, AsiaPacific, North Sea and other jurisdictions. This was despite the challenges faced by the sector, driven by the effects of COVID, including low and volatile resource pricing. In the latter part of the year, the Company saw somewhat of a recovery in the oil price and with low levels of investment across the industry in recent years, there is hope for a better 2021 and beyond.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key Highlights: <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Strong performance in the <a href=\"https:\/\/loc-group.com\/renewable-technology\/offshore-wind-energy\/\">Offshore Windfarm market<\/a>, consolidating LOC\u2019s leading position, particularly in Asia, with several new contract wins:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>Considerable growth in the Chinese and Vietnamese markets, having won most offshore wind projects in each country during 2020, including 8 contracts in China and 5 in <a href=\"https:\/\/loc-group.com\/news\/contract-win-to-support-hoa-binh-1-owf-development\/\">Vietnam<\/a> <\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Continued strong contract wins in European offshore wind for MWS <\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Consolidated its market-leading position in floating wind technology, with the completion of MWS work for the <a href=\"https:\/\/loc-group.com\/news\/loc-completes-mws-role-on-windfloat-atlantic-project\/\">Windfloat Atlantic<\/a> project, involving the installation of the largest floating platform turbine to date<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Strengthened position within the wider energy transition market, including floating solar and shipping, using insightful and innovative solutions across the field of marine renewables and sustainability activities: <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>Completion of MWS work on the <a href=\"https:\/\/loc-group.com\/news\/loc-france-completes-its-role-on-the-ifa2-interconnector-installation\/\">IFA2 Interconnector<\/a> \u2013 the 2nd interconnector between UK and France \u2013 promoting and accelerating the exchange of carbon-neutral electricity between the UK and the continent <\/em><\/li>\n<li><em><a href=\"http:\/\/innosea.co.uk\/\">Innosea<\/a> worked across more than 50 floating solar projects, with a total capacity of over 990 MWp, placing itself at the forefront of innovation and development in that market <\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Innosea supported the <a href=\"https:\/\/loc-group.com\/news\/innosea-hosting-2nd-thematic-webinar-for-portos-project\/\">PORTOS project<\/a> \u2013 a European-funded initiative promoting the integrated use of marine renewable sources in Atlantic Area ports;
