ABL’s Senior Engineer, George Marling<\/a>, will present our June briefing on ‘Subsea Cable Claims’.<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Subsea cables account for over 80% of offshore wind insurance claims, highlighting their critical role in overall project risk. At the same time, maritime and P&I exposures are increasing, with third-party liabilities arising from anchor drag, fishing activity, and vessel operations frequently leading to cable damage claims. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Individual incidents can result in repair costs of up to $30M, along with $40M to $50M in associated revenue losses. As subsea power and telecoms networks continue to expand across US waters, understanding both installation risks and ongoing third-party interaction is becoming increasingly important. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This presentation will provide an overview of subsea cable installation, along with practical risk mitigation measures that can help limit claims, both during installation and from later third-party interactions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the rise of subsea transmission and telecoms cables in the US, ABL explore the early stage engineering, through to risk management and cable repair procedures so we can understand the extent of costs associated with cable-related failures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The technical presentation will be followed by a Q&A and finalised with a summary of last month\u2019s high-cost marine casualties. Marine casualties are for the in person attendees only. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
