comprehend the engineering, reliability, maintenance, spares, and economic impacts this would have for the business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:28px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-challenge-faced-by-the-client\">Challenge faced by the client<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>The operators existing crane had past initial design life and because it is an expensive and disruptive operation to change out the crane, a decision must be made to either repair\/update or replace the existing crane.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To make this decision, a vulnerability assessment of the existing crane was required to provide an unbiased and comprehensive evaluation of the ongoing risks and associated businesses cases for 3 credible scenarios:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Replacement of existing crane within&nbsp;<strong>5 years<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Continued operation of existing crane for&nbsp;<strong>15 years<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Continued operation of existing crane for&nbsp;<strong>25 years<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>The study required us to provide mitigation plans for each credible scenario and ensure the study content was approved by all stakeholders so a risk-based
