Tonnes of LNG a year, it makes Ghana the first sub-Saharan African country to import LNG. This is a significant project for both Ghana and Sub-Saharan Africa in making more easily transmittable LNG available, as the continent forecasts growing gas demand for power generation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/abl-group.com\/abl\/\">AqualisBraemar LOC (\u2018ABL\u2019)<\/a>, formerly LOC Group, were appointed by Gasfin to the project in 2019 to provide <a href=\"https:\/\/abl-group.com\/abl\/loss-prevention\/marine-warranty-survey\/\">Marine Warranty Survey (\u2018MWS\u2019)<\/a> services for the TEMA LNG IMPORT TERMINAL in Ghana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-scope-of-work\">Scope of Work <\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The scope of work involved: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Harbour infrastructure construction in Tema, Ghana<\/li><li>Transportation of the newly built FRU from Jiangnan shipyard in Shanghai to Tema<\/li><li>Installation of the subsea export pipeline and the mooring of the FSU <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Construction started in 2019 with commissioning in summer 2021. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-key-features-of-the-project\">Key Features of the Project<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>\u201cThe project proves ABL\u2019s capabilities in providing world-class MWS services to support the development of the LNG sector all over the world. It in particular reflects our ability and reputation in supporting the increasing number of mid-scale LNG projects which continue to arise.\u201d<\/p><cite>Sergio Leone, MWS Project Manager and Business Development Manager <\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><em>AqualisBraemar\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/abl-group.com\/abl\/maritime\/ports-and-harbours-engineering-consultants\/\">Ports and Harbours<\/a> department, prior to joining with LOC group, also provided marine design consultancy support for Gasfin and AECOM over a two-year period, supporting the FRU, FSU and LNGCs.
