The road map highlighted the improvement plan, steps for implementation and control.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Assessors and Verifiers will now be equipped with validation\/evidence based on a recognisable process that is derived from the analysis and implementation plan covering the four focus areas of:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>ship management;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>maritime assurance;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>terminal management;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>and marine logistics.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This approach addressed any skills dilution that existed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-challenges-faced-by-the-client\"><strong>Challenges faced by the client <\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The client was experiencing challenges with skills dilution and current job competence profiles not at optimum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Competency profiles were not aligned to Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping&nbsp; Provide assessment of assessor and verifier profiles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Analyse<\/strong> \u2013 Carry out a gap analysis and generate report for all positions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Design<\/strong> \u2013 Develop an improvement plan along with suggested controls ready for the next phase of the program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Verify<\/strong> designed implementation is being controlled through qualified and\/or approved assessors and verifiers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Implement<\/strong> \u2013 Apply designed wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>A Competency Management System (CMS) may be quite complex in that competence cannot be assured by a one-off test or examination in a training environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Competence describes actual performance in the workplace (or valid simulation of the workplace) over time.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>It requires that a person has both the knowledge and the skill to perform a particular function and the ability to apply these to unforeseen circumstances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Competency develops over time and therefore a competency assurance system should reflect various levels of attainment within any skill area ranging from minimum
